Hi my name is Barbra Horowitz of Intuitive Personal Styling & Guidance.
Is this your first time on Thumbtack?
*Thumbtack is a lead generator for thousands of pros. We pay an individual fee for you. If you aren’t seriously reevaluating your style/wardrobe? Perhaps put in a request when you are.🦋
I offer a completely complimentary Closet Tour which is a 55 minute part phone/part remote look at you and your current wardrobe. Once we schedule your day and time, I will share how your Closet Tour will unfold.
2024 is the year I celebrate 20 years as a personal stylist, and for a very limited time. I am offering your first two hours at my 2004 rates of $175 an hour. Over $125 an hour savings.
Then enjoy an additional $100 off per hour at $200 an hour.
My normal client rates are $300 an hour.
British Vogue covered the launch of my remote styling services in 2008. This is how long I have been styling remotely.
👇 Take a look at my extensive styling experience over the past 20 years.🌟
I have worked in 12 states in person, around the country, and pockets of the world in person, and remote .
Here is how individual sessions usually work.
Step 1
REBOOT*RESTYLE*RESET
Release and Remove irrelevant clothing from your closet. Create relevant outfits from your current wardrobe. Text screenshots of
Restyled looks to your cell phone. Create a list of supplemental pieces needed to elevate, and update your wardrobe and your life.
Step 2
CUSTOM CURATED ONLINE SHOPPING
Together we send the dressing room to your home of 💯% returnable pieces. I shop for you and you check out. No commitment except to wait for your FITTING/STYLING session. Shopping sessions are approximately 2-3 hours. I can cast a much wider net shopping online versus having your local
stylist meet you at your local mall.
Step 3
FUTURE SELF FITTING/STYLING
Together we will identify curated pieces with flexibility and longevity
in multiple categories for your life. I will take pictures of all completed styled looks, and text you screenshots. Leaving you with the perfect FUTURE SELF capsule wardrobe.
You can also work with me via text only, if you are just looking for advice on daily outfits.

About me
~~~~~~~~~
I have been very fortunate to be covered in major press outlets such as British Vogue, Daily Candy, Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles magazine, LA Weekly, In Style - People Magazine/Stylewatch, and many more.
Pure Wow also covered my remote styling services. I am one of the first remote stylists and one of the very first stylists on Thumbtack.
I am the published author of Closet Control published by Sterling Press in 2007.
I had a very early style podcast produced by California Psychics called Fashion 411 - It’s never just about the clothing.
After 8 years of handling and developing top models, Some that are huge stars today. Once I left the modeling industry, I decided to take what I learned as a top agent and apply it to everyone.
I began my career at 10 years old at. my father’s men’s suiting store in the financial district of San Francisco called Executive Clothes. I grew up around a tailor. My family is several generations of dress manufacturers, menswear reps and tailors.
I worked in retail for over 10 years for well known retailers such as: Contempo Casuals, Ann Taylor, Nordstrom, Guess, Lancôme.
I have a great eye as well as knowing what clothing should cost. I shop clients online through planet 🌎 friendly resale and sale versus retail. My father’s store was high end menswear at wholesale prices.
Follow me over on ******************************* where I share (in my stories) style, and planet friendly style, and styling tips.
Congratulations working with me already makes you part of the solution around owning a more sustainable wardrobe for yourself, and our 🌎 Welcome to the circular economy by Restyling your closet first. Mindfully shopping second.
This is exactly how I will curate the pieces that we will acquire for you. Fashion is the number two offender to our environment behind agriculture. It’s important to resell what you remove and understand how to flip your wardrobe.
I am based at the beach in Los Angeles, California after living in Hollywood for over 15 years.
People magazine called me Hollywood’s personal stylist. Without a doubt, I have dressed my share of celebrities.
Styling is the perfect portal to your intentions and manifesting energy. I will add efficiency and value to your life coupled with immense joy.
Your wardrobe tells your story of where you have been, how you were raised, and how your family participated in getting dressed. Your struggle is not imagined.
Good news is, fashion and styling are my families story. It’s second nature. It is intuitive for me. It’s 48 of my 58 years.
So Why do I have a longtime career as a personal stylist?
One word: "Never."
"I NEVER would have bought that."
"I NEVER would have put that together."
"I NEVER would have thought of that"
I have consulted for boutiques and was one ☝️ of the very first upcyclers of reworked tee shirts from Goodwill with a Custom cut T shirt line called Rigged Tee Shirt Couture. Traveling the sample sale circuit to Chicago, New York, London, and San Francisco and carried in major boutiques.
I was hired by brands like Air Jordan, Forever 21, Nike, Skyy vodka to cut up custom tops from oversized branded T-shirts for the brands guests at launch parties, movie premieres, private parties.
Barbra recalls how the people around her inspired the decision to become a professional stylist. “My cousin Betsy came to me one day, explaining, ‘Barbra, I feel good on the inside, I want to match it up on the outside. Can you help me with that thing you do in the closets?’ I answered, ‘The family parlor tricks?’ My mom has been selling her and our clothing way before eBay, and moving furniture and cutting up clothing were sort of the family mantra,” she shares. “Add in my father owning a high-end menswear store at a discount. Watching a tailor custom-fit suits didn’t hurt my understanding for fit as one of the most important elements of style.”
According to Barbra, simply style and fashion are about development—what you don’t know, learn, and what you do know, teach. “This is how the family parlor tricks became a business, and a book by Sterling Press called Closet Control,” she says.
