We have a cottage to rent out that needed a bathroom remodel. Sam was very quick to respond to our request for quote. He came out and started work right away after the contract was accepted. Sam is not the cheapest contractor we've worked with, but he is very professional and doesn't waste time since he charges by the job. He gets the help he needs to get it done and is communicative throughout the project so that he could hit his target completion date. He shows up on time, which is not always the case when dealing with contractors. He encountered issues with how the plumbing was originally installed and instead of just leaving a potential problem, he quoted the fix separately. As work is completed, Sam gets the client to look at what is accomplished and makes sure it is accepted. I definitely would call Sam first with our next project.

Although it was my own fault I didn't stop work when mold became visible in the deco wall I needed them to take down for an open concept kitchen, and apparently he did say at the end of the first day of the job that he didn't believe in rules. Big red flag. But by then the damage had been done. He had great reviews and promised me a good deal as I don't have an enormous budget to work with. Didn't even show up or have any second person to contact me the next day because when he came to the job site, he sprung on me preferred check over card. Told him I'd bring it the following day but apparently some days later he informed me he had been in the hospital. Now I had to get an air hygienist out to my property, need to clean the dust off the floor and hire someone else to finish the resurfacing job because the wall is three different colors. One from before I owned the property that wasn't matched, his not taking the code of the can to Home Depot to get exact match and against the actual correct color of the wall/rest of kitchen. I will not hire these guys again.
