FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I beg you to know what you wish to spend. It saves everyone so much time. Roughly though, I try to keep a roughly $500 daily rate in mind. Then I charge for gas and travel time. I can also work on a time + materials rate. Since some murals (signs also) are more complex than others, and thus require more / less creativity and time, it's tricky to charge simply by the square foot.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Essence. It's all about the essence of what is needed by my client. I've honed the skill of receiving communication and understanding what you want, what will truly reflect your vision! Let's do this!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The fraternity/sorority of artists is amazing. We all seem to get along, and competition seems to fall by the wayside when we collaborate on how to execute a beautiful work of art for a customer. Although I don't have time for any formal continuing education, my "liberal" approach to learning never flags. I do go to art museums on a regular basis, and, by intent observation I learn from the masters - there aren't really too many 'secrets" per se, but insights can certainly be gained through concerted observation.
