- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new client, I begin with a simple yet essential intake process. This includes a form that helps identify the core issue they’re seeking to resolve, their expectations of the process, and what they hope to see from me as their mediator. It also opens the door to an honest conversation about what mediation truly entails—particularly the understanding that resolution often requires compromise. I help clients understand that mediation is rarely an all-or-nothing outcome. Instead, it’s a collaborative effort to find common ground, and that usually means reassessing and adjusting some initial expectations. I emphasize that a successful mediation doesn’t just provide a quick fix—it creates a durable, thoughtful resolution that reflects the interests of everyone involved. Most people come to mediation because they’re ready to move forward, and with the right guidance and mindset, they can leave with a resolution that’s both practical and empowering.
