- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Mia Sophia Melle is an artist, entrepreneur, designer, real estate professional, boutique owner, and more! She has been designing and creating her whole life. Her first professional design venture was Heart of Wax candle company in 1998 where she designed a complete product line of handmade artisan candles and bath and body products which were sold wholesale all over the world. Her products were featured in showrooms in LA, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, and New York to name a few. Retail stores that carried her products include Nordstroms, Macys, Urban Outfitters, Fred Segal and more. Mia is also an accomplished photographer featuring an editorial style and has worked professionally in this area most of her life. Her work can be seen on her website at miamelle (d0t) com. In 2000, Mia Melle obtained her Real Estate license and then Broker's license and created Modern Real Estate Shop which is a full-service Real Estate Brokerage and Property Management firm with over 600+ single family homes under management and 50+ vacation rentals. In 2002, Mia Melle with her husband Damien Melle created Fix'd Construction to assist in facilitating thier rapidly growing Real Estate portfolio and design/build jobs. Fix'd is a critical vendor for hundreds of real estate investors, real estate hedge funds, and government institutions including Fannie Mae. Mia has rehabilitated and designed countless number of homes over the last 2 decades and most recently restoring her current showroom and office in Ontario, a 100 year old historic building. This build won her the prestigious Model Colony Award from the City of Ontario. Mia also serves as Public Art Commissioner for the City of Ontario which oversees all public art such as murals, sculptures, and art works displayed on both private and public property.
