FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Hourly vs. Flat Rate: I ass handymen charge by the hour, while others may offer a flat rate for specific jobs (like assembling furniture or fixing a specific issue). I have Minimum Service Charges: Many handymen have a minimum charge, which means you'll be billed for at least a certain amount of time, even if the job takes less time. At least 2 hrs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I’d make sure to listen carefully to your needs. You can reach out via phone, email, or an online booking system, and we’ll have a quick chat about what needs to be done—whether it's fixing a leaky faucet, assembling furniture, or handling more complex home repairs. Ask about specifics: I’ll ask a few questions to understand the scope of the work and any details that might affect the job (e.g., is there an issue with the plumbing or electrical work? Are there special materials involved?). Providing an Estimate: After understanding the job, I’ll give you a rough estimate of the cost, whether it’s hourly or flat-rate pricing. If needed, I might offer to come by to assess the situation in person for a more accurate estimate (if it’s a more complicated job).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
On-the-Job Experience: A lot of handyman work comes down to practical experience. Many handymen get their skills by learning through hands-on work over the years, often starting out with simpler tasks and gradually taking on more complex projects. Over time, this experience helps refine problem-solving and technical skills.
