Introduction

Hello, I am Marie, an oil, watercolor painter, woodworking sculptor and art instructor. I graduated with my Bachelors in Fine Arts with an emphasis in painting in 2009 and I have been an active professional artist ever since. My heartfelt focus is to provide pencil drawing classes that are specific to the individual, to open up their imagination in drawing and painting they never dreamed possible. In consideration of health and safety with the coronavirus, I am now offering my instruction solely through video conferencing. These virtual individual drawing and painting lessons are offered to ages 8 and older. Each drawing class is custom to meet the individual where they are, with exploration of inspiration, imagination and goal setting. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Individual drawing classes are offered for $50 per one hour of instruction.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first class is a meet and greet, with introductions from both parties. I enjoy giving the student the opportunity to talk about their work, what subject matters interest them, their inspirations, other artists they admire, etc. We then start every class with a warm up activity to loosen our drawing muscles and ease us into the process, this activity can also be a form of meditation. Then the beginning lesson ensues...

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting with a Minor in Art History from the University of Kansas, 2009.
