ANNOUNCEMENT: *Now doing in-person sessions in my new rented gym space in the Grand Lake area in Oakland!*
Ready to lose weight, bulk up, or finally get a steady exercise habit going through personalized programming that will fit your lifestyle? Let's talk!
About Me
I was a personal fitness trainer at the YMCA for almost three years before going out on my own. In all my years of training, I have worked with clients across all age ranges (from teen to senior citizens), gender, and ethnic groups. Moreover, I have worked with clients that have special conditions and other concerns that have kept them from pursuing their health and fitness goals. It is this experience that I aim to bring to you to bring you to your max health levels.
Whether you want to lose weight, gain muscle mass, increase flexibility, regain strength after some extended time away from the gym, or just build the exercise habit into your lifestyle, I'm the trainer for you! I also try to keep my prices affordable so that all people in the Bay Area can enjoy the benefits of personal training. Contact me using the information below to get a quote for my prices!
Other Things About Me
In addition to being a certified personal trainer (National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM)), I am certified for CPR via the American Red Cross. (Not that we will ever need it since my goal is to always keep you safe.)
Some of my NASM certifications include Corrective Exercise Specialization (CES), Behavior Change Specialization (BCS) to help increase your motivation and commitment, Speed-Agility-Quickness Training, Cardio Training, Core Training, and, beyond NASM, TRX specialization.
I am a trained linguistic anthropologist (PhD from UC Berkeley), bringing a cultural sensitivity and deep respect for diversity and inclusion to personal training beyond popular feel good slogans.
Service Types
I offer in-person training, both individual and partner training, at Studio FitLife in the Grand Lake area in Oakland. It’s a quiet and fully-functional independent gym that has, at max, only 3trainers at a time so there’s no need to worry about fighting over equipment (or fear of social distancing). This is great if you’re looking for that focused, one-to-one experience without being distracted and if you want a change of scenery from your usual gym once in a while.
While I don't offer conventional nutritionist advice so I stay within my scope of practice, I do have a network of registered dietitians that I can refer you to in order to make sure your nutrition also matches up with the exercises we're doing to meet your goals. I'd rather put you in touch with a trained professional because your ultimate safety and health is of utmost importance to me.
If you like what you read, don't delay! Let's make some progress on those goals today!
