Introduction

My focus is getting to know each student as a person and helping them achieve their goals. I am passionate about music and want to share my love of music. My flute students range from young children beginning their music journey to professional musicians focussing on honing their skills. I also teach piano to beginners, especially music reading skills. Professional affiliations: Musicians Union Local 6, Suzuki Association of the Americas, MTNA, CAPMT, Berkeley Piano Club, Artis School of Music, Veksler Academy of Music and Dance.

I came to Lenora as an adult woodwind player with a strong background in clarinet and saxophone. I had studied flute in my late teens and early twenties, but hadn’t picked up a flute in 15 years. At every lesson she was able to zero in on what I needed to do to improve and gave me solid advice on what steps to take. She can gauge her response to the situation and wants only the best for her pupils. She keeps abreast of the latest conventions in flute pedagogy and is always a font of new and inspiring knowledge. Five stars! Highly recommended!!

As a student of Ms.Lenora for the last couple of years, I feel lucky to have found such a knowledgeable and kind teacher. As an adult beginner with no western music knowledge, I needed someone who was both patient and understanding of my slow learning curve. She is very mindful of all those things and has made me feel confident in music through her approach. She keeps the lessons fun and motivating and You can feel that she really wants you to succeed and have a wonderful musical journey.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fees include preparing sound files for practice and arrangements geared to each student's needs and likes. In some cases, I will drive to the student's home.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first in-person lesson is free—a chance to get to know each other. This free introductory lesson is only available for in-person lessons at my home.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master of Fine Arts degree from UCLA enhanced by pedogogical training in early childhood education (Kodaly, Orff, Dalcroze, Suzuki method studies at UCLA and Holy Names College). I also had training with piano teacher Jerri Witt (formerly of the SF Conservatory).
