Hired on Thumbtack

Needed a small area along the side of the house switched from lawn to concrete. ATA Concrete responded quickly and was able to start the following week. Took a couple days but that was only because we had rain one of the days. They had it done the way I requested and it looks a lot better.

From start to finish it was a great experience. I was given an estimate, all of my questions were answered and the work to be done was explained to me in detail. We had Ata come replace our driveway and walkway. The price was fair, he gave us an honest, comprehensive assessment of the work that needed to be done and charged for, and most things were on track based on his proposed schedule. However, the last 10% of the job was just outright unprofessional and very sloppy. In addition to his team pouring excess concrete on both our lawn and a separate gardening area reserved for planting, Ata’s team left their wheel barrel full of additional excess concrete on our lawn for now over a week, without any indication or communication on when/if they will return to clean up. We have plants coming in and we’re now unsure about how we will get these into the ground given the concrete poured over the planting area. Separately, there were nails, energy drink cans, and plastic bottles littered in random areas around our lawn, by our gardening hose, and right on the sidewalk. Making matters far worse was that our SUV ran into two nails, costing us a new tire replacement. We’ve already made all payments and aren’t able to get back in touch with Ata on these concerns, but we would advise subsequent families hiring Ata to just be home when the work is ongoing so that you can ensure the job is completely properly. The sloppiness all around was extremely disappointing.
