Welcome! I’m Shane Chesnut, a professional pianist and composer with over 14 years of experience performing, recording, and teaching in Los Angeles. I specialize in helping adult learners—whether you're returning to the piano after years away, starting fresh, or looking to refine your technique and musicality.
My lessons are tailored to your goals, pace, and musical tastes. From classical and jazz to film scores and pop, I help students unlock their creativity, develop a deeper understanding of the instrument, and most importantly—enjoy the process.
Lessons are available in person (North Hollywood or at your home) or online via Zoom. Whether you're seeking personal enrichment, stress relief, or a serious musical challenge, I’ll meet you where you are and help you grow.

After taking many years off from playing, taking piano lessons with Shane has really reignited my passion for piano. He is a wonderful and talented teacher that really makes the lessons enjoyable. My progress has been excellent with him and I could not recommend his services any more highly.

I have been taking lessons from Shane for almost 4 years now. As an adult, learning a new skill can be daunting. Shane is an amazing and patient instructor. He is encouraging but at the same time is a great accountability partner. He meets you where you are at and tailors the lessons to keep you moving forward. On the business side, he communicates well, is very responsive and professional. He is an amazing pianist/performer and it is fun and helpful to watch him demonstrate proper playing technique.
