Jose is seriously awesome. He’s not only an extremely talented and insightful instructor, but he also has a great personality that makes it easy to be comfortable right out of the gate. I was super hesitant to have guitar lessons online vs in person at first, but I was shocked at how much I learned in a single session. No minute is spared here - you 100% will get your money’s worth! Not to mention, his responsiveness and availability is truly unmatched. I definitely made the right choice going with lessons from Jose, highly HIGHLY recommend!

I label myself as an intermediate guitar player and have been stuck in a rut and trying to make a break through. I’ve been studying theory and trying to relate it to the fretboard to open my eyes to new ideas. In just one session with Jose, he was able to make my major and minor pentatonic relationships clear as day to me. I now fully understand the idea behind inversions and how to make them up and down the fretboard. I’ve been trying to understand chord building and how to find moveable shapes and in our first lesson I was able to see all the shapes of 7th chords and how they apply in other keys. If your new to guitar or at a higher level and want to break through, book a lesson with Jose and you will see a little clearer.

I have been a self taught guitar player for 18 years and finally hit the point where I needed to reach out for help to better understand concepts behind what I was doing. I reached out to a few different instructors and had some intro calls and Jose’s personable attitude stood out to me. He took the time to understand my background and what goals I was looking to accomplish. Leading up to my first lesson he was extremely responsive and enthusiastic. At the time we agreed to have our first lesson, Jose was ready to go on time and we jumped right into it and he did an excellent job explaining things at a speed I was comfortable with. I would absolutely recommended Jose to someone looking to finally take that first lesson after years of playing. I am looking forward to applying what I’ve learned and getting ready for my lesson with him next week!

I’ve been taking guitar lessons with Jose for 3 months now after debating if I wanted to start lessons for a long time. I’m so glad I started! Not only has my guitar playing come along very quickly in that time, but I’m actually starting to understand the theory behind what I’m playing. Jose is enthusiastic, punctual, and always more than happy to answer questions or demonstrate things if I need extra help. His classes are organized and they help me understand what I need to work on next. Most importantly, we have fun and I have learned some songs I thought were too difficult just a few weeks ago! I feel like I can actually have fun while playing now because I can keep up with songs a lot better. I’m more motivated to play with every improvement now, when I used to leave my guitar collecting dust because I didn’t know what to do. Virtual classes are super convenient, too! I wholeheartedly recommend lessons with Jose whether you’re new to music altogether or just new to guitar.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I take on a new student, I like to know everything about them, not just their musical aspirations. I take a whole life approach for teaching my students. I don't just teach them guitar, I teach them how to approach music from all aspects of their lives.

I have been playing for 14 years, I went to 7 years of schooling in guitar and music theory. I got my Associates degree from the musicians institute of contemporary music in hollywood in 2016
