I hired Fuse HVAC to repair my 82 year old grandmother’s refrigerator on May 3. They found that the two fans that, from what I understand, blow the cold air from the freezer up to the refrigerator had died. They said they replaced them, charged me close to $500.00 and said they would be back the next day to check on it.
They never came back the next day and I ended up having to call them to come back out nine days later on May 12th because the fans were making a really loud noise. The technician “fixed, the problem and the noise seemed to be gone.
Weeks later, the refrigerator is hot again. So of course I call them very frustrated because I just paid them $500 to fix this exact problem. They sent a technician out and said the fans had failed again. At that point, I requested a refund, which Helen assured me that they would get out to me. I had explained to her that we paid via check and asked how would we receive that refund. She told me she would get back to me with that info, but reassured me that I would be getting the refund.
I waited 10 days, and Helen never got back to me nor did I receive any sort of refund. I finally found a direct number to their office and was able to speak to Helen earlier this week. She claimed that she had been on vacation, and someone else was supposed to send me the check, but they must not have followed through with it. She assured me she’ll get back to me about either someone dropping off a check or for me to collect it from them. Of course she has not gotten back to me.
I’ve already had to fork out another $800 to buy a new fridge for my poor grandmother. Now we are out $1300.00. What kind of people steal $500 from an 82 year-old woman after they promise to give it back because they failed to satisfactorily complete a job that I paid them for. It’s simple, you were not able to fix it, so give my money back!
My next step is to file small claims because these people are clearly liars and thieves and it’s been 2 weeks of waiting. Don’t trust the word of these people, it holds no value. A

First of all, we are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.
It is true that the refund took longer than it should have. While I was away it was not done by another manager who was in charge of that. It’s our mistake and we are really so sorry.
As soon as I came back I got in touch with you and our technician Jason came to bring you a check, however no one opened the door. It was some sort of a miscommunication with you, I was calling you and leaving voice messages, but then on a phone call you told me you never received it.
Aug 2 Jason came over and he handed a check to your sister Rebecca. It was confirmed earlier with you as you were not at home in this moment.
We accept our mistake by delaying a refund and we sincerely apologize for that.
It’s a pity for that you didn’t update your review as the information there is not how it seems. The review was posted literally on the day when Jason tried to deliver a check, but no one was home and all in all check was delivered the next working day.
Again, we are sorry about our mistake and we will be glad to service you again.

The response from FUSE was amazing!! The job we had wasn’t over complicated but very tedious and after several hours of trying ourselves, we started looking at Thumbtack. FUSE immediately responded and was able to send a very nice young man (so sorry I don’t remember his name) the very next day. He was knowledgeable, polite and very efficient. We would definitely hire FUSE again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for electrical or equipment repair.

FUSE HVAC was able to schedule my diagnostic appointment the same day. They arrived on time and notified me ahead of time that they would soon arrive. They thoroughly inspected the appliance and located the problem. Unfortunately the part that needed to be replaced was no longer available but they super helpful in identifying that and letting me know. Value was exceptional with a very reasonable diagnostic appointment fee. I would hire them again without hesitation.
