Introduction

I have years of experience plus years of gigging and an academic background (USC and GIT with honors). I teach guitar and bass guitar. I have worked on many major festivals including a backing Grammy winner Diane Schurr. I play multiple instruments so that I can address issues of ensemble playing (playing in a band setting). I don't have a single approach to teaching. I find what works for each student and teach them according to their goals and learning style. I am extremely patient. I offer home based studio instruction in order to pass on a discount to my students. I offer a computer equipped studio that includes recording software as well as programs like Band in a Box and the Amazing Slowdowner. I also offer ensemble classes in a studio equipped with full live band equipment. The best part of my job is watching people get to the next level and surpass their original goals. I am offering lessons online via Zoom and Skype, as well as in person (masks required).

Very informative, knowledgable, and a great listener and ambassador of all facets of music. Multi instrumentalist that can take you anywhere you need to go contingent upon your skill sets. She made me feel confident in wanting to continue learning about guitar for the rest of my life. Her studio is rad.

Have played with many different guitar teachers through the years, but I've finally found somebody with Kim that has really advanced my playing to the next level. She shows you how to use different techniques or fret knowledge to real playing applications. I finally feel comfortable playing in different situations and knowing how to sound like I know what I'm doing. Can't recommend her high enough.

I had been frustrated looking for a guitar teacher. I've met some great people with okay chops but they just didn't have the teaching skills. A few months ago I googled "best blues guitar teacher in Los Angeles" and Kimberly's thumbtack came up. Within 24 hours we had my first lesson set for Saturday. At the first lesson, Kimberley knew just how to assess my current skill set and we took off right from there. We've had 14 lessons now, and my wife is impressed with my improvement. But I'm ecstatic. I'm playing like never before and having fun. Kimberly is a full-time instructor. If you are lucky enough to get a slot in her pretty full schedule, take it.

I offer discounts for more than one lesson per week.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I focus on personal development on a daily. My combined instrument practice is 4 hours/ day. I feel I need to practice what I preach. Getting better as a player is key to getting better as a teacher.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
As much as I like gigging, I felt something was missing. I decided that I needed to give back some of the knowledge that I have acquired from other great teachers and real life experience.
