I focus on shape and budget. Making your body look amazing within your taste and lifestyle and doing it without breaking the bank is where my skills excel. I am driven by shape, color and flattering fit that works for you and not by fashion trends. Just because something is in doesn't mean it's right for you and I want you to look amazing. Teaching. I love guiding people to what they instinctively want out of their personal style but don't know how to verbalize or achieve. I enjoy helping them understand what looks good and why and how that can translate into the look they like. And it's so rewarding when a client falls in love with something that they were initially very hesitant about trying!

So I hired a stylist for help forming a new wardrobe, I have to say now that I don't think I will ever be hiring a stylist again. Nothing special was done should've just saved the extra money spent on doing the shopping myself. My advice to anyone that would want it after this experience, is to think wisely before hiring a stylist, don't hire one unless you have knowledge of what they can truly do and how they shop and also only hire if you really need help for something special which you aren't very much capable of doing yourself. I really wanted an easy clean style to be formed out of this, but from the clothes I did keep there was no real cohesiveness and style that was formed, especially the one I had in mind and described to her about. Last but not least, 'one or two' pieces from Target turned out to be too many pieces from Target, be careful with target's quality for the same prices you can get better quality at Dillards, Macy's, and Belk, on sales and with discounts especially. That's something I am much better at doing too. There are amazing deals at these pricey stores, that's something I didn't see much from this stylist. "if its something you can probably do your self, don't hire somebody else to do it for you"

Katina was amazing, very friendly and professional. She showed me new ways of pairing the clothes I had in my closet and pointed out additional pieces that I was missing. She not only told me what worked and didn't, but also why. I was worried that everything I had would be tossed in the donation pile, but she quickly and skillfully calmed my fears, reassuring me. It was incredibly helpful how she asked how I felt in and about each item. I was able to easily let go of items I had held on to for far too long. I wore one of her pairing the next day and received complements on my outfits. Can't wait to go shopping together!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Not complicated. My services are billed by the hour. There is a 2 hour minimum appointment for any service. Time may be increased in 15 minute increments after the minimum is met.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
May 2012 Style For Hire, NYC, Studied under Stacy London, host of What Not To Wear. Personal Styling Tactics Workshop, a 2 day National Stylist Workshop and an apprenticeship with well over 100 hours of training experience.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had always been drawn to style and learned what I could in a casual way. But then I was nudged into it by a friend who said that I should go for it and that I would be great at it! I really connected with the idea and it was just the encouragement I needed to seek out my training and go for it and I've never looked back! One of my best life decisions!
