FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Fee Structure: Our firm believes in fair, standardized pricing. Howver, because projects can vary significantly in scope, we recommend scheduling an initial consultation with our team to ensure that all details are organized and noted. After the initial consultation, our team will provide you with an initial estimate for the services necessary to bring your project to fruition.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Step 1: Initial Consultation - Describe us your project scope, visions, goals and target budget - Our team will create a price estimate based on our firm's Standardized Pricing, and a time schedule to outline the project's anticipated milestones, deliverables and payment phases. - If you choose to proceed, our team will send a complete agreement documenting detailed scopes of each deliverable and associated payments and phases. - Once the agreement is signed, the project begins and you will be assigned a Project Team Leader who is your main point of contact throughout the project. Step 2: Project Begins - The first step in creating a building is in understanding the land on which it will be developed. Depending on the project, our team will either directly schedule a site visit or an initial measurement of the existing space. Surveyors, Geotechnical Engineers or other specialists may also begin their portions depending on what the project requires. Step 3: Design Begins - Once our team has developed a clear understanding of the existing space to be developed, our in-house 2D CAD drafters and 3D Visual Artists collaborate to create an initial iteration of the proposed design. - The initial design will be sent to you in both formats to review and understand the proposed space in detail. - Typically a preliminary Design Review Meeting is scheduled with your Project Team Leader to sculpt additional details of the proposed structure. Step 4: Mid-Design Study - On the more complex projects, the design will follow a series of iterations and additional Design Meetings until the proposed design's Basic Structure (Walls, Windows, Doors and Roof Layout) is finalized. Step 5: Design Completion - Once the Basic Structure is finalized, some projects may undertake extensive interior or exterior design detailing. This may include, material selections, applicances, furnishings, textiles among an array of additional items. - Projects with permitted scope will then be pushed to additional specialists to complete the Construction Documents. This is the set of plans that a Contractor will use to construct the building. Before the Contractor can begin building, the applicable municipalities will need to first issue permits. Step 6: Submission for Permits - Once the Construction Documents are completed, the municipalities will typically review them for safety and code compliance. Our team coordinates this process from start to finish. (Note: only municipalities can issue permits, so we cannot guarantee that permits will be received.) Step 7: You are ready to build! - Once the municipality issues the permits, our process is complete and the Contractor can typically begin their process.
