FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The standard rate for my lessons are: 30 minutes: $20 + $10 travel 45 minutes: $30 + $10 travel 60 minutes: $40 + $10 travel
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If the student is totally new to the instrument, we go over basic information of the instrument itself and some music theory. I like to begin with Essential Elements and Suzuki book 1 and create an individualized route based on how the student progresses. If the student has already been playing the violin or viola, the first lesson is always an evaluation of what they have previously learned and their playing style (this usually tells me how the practice sessions go). From there, I create the individualized plan just as I do for the beginners. This will usually include scale books, etude books, and repertoire pieces based on skill level.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing violin since a very young age. After high school, I attended Pasadena City College where my focus was on violin performance. From there I transferred to the University of Redlands and received both my Bachelors in Music and Masters in Music in Violin Performance.
