Introduction

For over 7 years, I have helped hopeful scholars and professionals maximize their scores on standardized tests (SAT, GRE, GMAT), while tutoring students in core subjects like math, world history, biology, etc. I graduated with a double-major in Japanese & International Studies from Carolina (UNC Chapel Hill), and just recently earned an Au.D. (Doctor of Audiology) degree from University of California, San Diego. I have tutored clients in NYC, NC, San Diego, and abroad in Tokyo. While I am fairly new to Thumbtack, I have numerous Yelp reviews and personal references upon request! From my experience in academic + Japanese instruction, I've concluded that teaching is definitely a two-way street. My favorite part of the job is learning from my clients as I help them achieve their goals! Aside from being a doctor, I have a lot of experience counseling and mentoring students to maximize their potential.

Anish has been my tutor for about two months now and he’s very patient with me. I am very veryyy bad at math and it’s hard to find people who don’t embarrass me but who actually help me and apply the right pressure. He is very understanding and has all the awesome qualities a good tutor should have!!!

We had fun! I trusted Anish to manage my progress and studying and he followed through. He was really focused and attentive. He often went overtime to help me. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing depends on factors like what subject / test the student is preparing for and the distance traveled (if any). Generally, my rate is $80 an hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to sit down and get to know my clients, in order to get a better feel of their learning style and overall objectives. This helps me build us both team up to build a customized lesson plan moving forward!
