Introduction
My name is Ben Maughan and I have over 24 years experience in fitness instruction. I am a former overweight kid who has changed his own life. I have helped many people lose 15lbs to 100lbs and more. I have a client who recently hit the 200lbs mark. I have worked at Equinox in Westwood and Gold's Gym in Hollywood. I also train high profile clients at their homes, offices and on set. I am certified in Personal Training (AFAA), Yoga and Spin (YAS fitness studios), Swim (YMCA), Nutrition (AFPA), kettlebells and TRX. I have experience in crossfit, martial arts, and boxing, and teach those disciplines as well. I ran bootcamps throughout Los Angeles with West LA Bootcamps (which I formerly owned). I have provided online personal training and nutrition plans globally with FitOrbit (Body By Jake) and now provide my own custom online training and diet plans to clients all over. I am fully certified and insured. I have a lot of knowledge, energy and experience with all types of fitness equipment. I'm a true professional and I'm interested in speaking to you further. My sessions are one hour in length. 5-10 min is dedicated to warming up and stretching. I then take you through the workout. My system is circuit based. I gradually build a new clients strength and stamina into eventual 4-6 exercise circuits. Abs complete the circuit. We up the rounds until I eventually have my regular clients working non-stop for the full hour with limited breaks every 10 minutes or so. Lets get to work.

Ben is fantastic, finally broke my resistance to cardio and got me doing treadmill sprints with incline intervals. His dedication to come to my home gym and force me to do cardio then a fast weight workout has changed my perceptions of working out....heck he's even gotten me over the dreaded fear of leg days by diversifying my routine every time. I'm lost inches from my waist and have gained significant stamina now after training a few months....plus I don't get sick or dizzy after my sessions have stuck to his plan to better my physique! Ben is awesome, doesn't make me feel inferior when I can't complete a set or yell at me like some trainers but does push me when needed. I recommend him to anyone looking to getting back into working out and actually enjoying it.

Before I first met with Ben, he listened to my personal fitness goals and factored those in as opposed to a standard, pre-planned workout routine. I'd been using my own workout regime for years, and once I met with Ben, I immediately noticed the differences I was seeking. He's patient, he listens, and he will push you with encouragement and focus. He's the best trainer I've used in L.A., and I highly recommend him.
