My Work stands apart from others because of the Passion and dedication I put into teaching and sharing my knowledge of Spanish and Latin cuisine with others. Not only do I teach you how to cook, I explain the origins of Latin and Spanish cuisine. To me, it's not just about teaching cooking, but passing on the folklore and history of cuisine, not just Spanish but all food History fascinates me so I like to share that with you and your friends.
I love every aspect of cooking, I love it so much I thought I'd share my knowledge & enthusiasm with the world.
I have been teaching Cooking for 5 years now. I started as a young child falling in love with my mother’s spice rack. My Mother was a mediocre cook, later, I learned that both my maternal Great Grandmothers on both sides owned popular restaurants in Nicaragua. I went to culinary school while I was waiting to get into graduate school for writing. My first gig was teaching Cuban Cuisine to Mexican chefs for the opening of a new Cuban restaurant. I have also teach regularly at Whole Foods- The Grove, Taste of Spain Cooking Class. Being a food historian and adventurer, I love writing about food and always incorporate all my classes with a bit of history and Latin folklore. I know how to cook all kinds of cuisines, from Thai to Middle Eastern, but it is the passion and love of my heritage and my roots that keeps magnetizing me back to Latin cuisine. I am avid traveler, travelling all over Latin America, where I can continue to sample more Latin flavors and learn about this rich culture. Recently, I just came back from Buenos Aires and learned all about the parrilla, Chimmichurri and Choripan, popular Argentinian street food. Always, something new to learn and new to explore and I am ready for the adventure. Please, join me and my blog as I explore more Latin Cuisine and try out new innovative recipes on classic traditional recipes, like, Cardamom Flan and Pumpkin Enchiladas. You can also find me at home at my Underground Restaurant, Sabrina’s Latin Kitchen.
