FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My murals start around $3,000 and can exceed $30,000 for larger projects depending on the answers to question about size, aesthetic desired, location, wall surface, and deadline. Normally, I price my murals by the hour instead of by the square feet which most muralists do. This provides the most cost effective fee for the client based on the aesthetic of the design and hours for completion. However, I can also price by the square foot dependent on the design aesthetic. For example, a wall with a more minimal design will be less expensive than a wall with a more complex design based on hours to complete. Depending on the size, surface (drywall, concrete, brick, wood), and environment (interior, exterior, surface of ground) of the mural will determine the amount of supplies and equipment will be required. Because each mural is completely different in scope and design, I would provide a more accurate fee in detail. My hourly fee ranges from $275 - $325 depending on the complexity, wall surface, and site conditions. My price per square feet ranges from $50 - $70 and also depends on the aformentioned factors.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
15 - 30 minute complimentary design consultation with the client to understand their vision, aesthetic, color palettes preferred, budget, and site conditions whether interior or exterior. A questionnaire can also be emailed instead of a phone call. Should these all align from a call, a site visit would be preferred to take site photos and understand the potential mural environment. I require a 50% deposit to book the project, begin conceptual development, and purchase supplies / book equipment rental. This can range based on project size and location with 50% due upon completion. All of the information would be included to the overall estimate and contract will need to be signed to proceed. The estimate I would provide you with is broken down in sections; scope, conceptual design, supplies and equipment, travel / meals, payment schedule, information and contract. A deposit would be required to purchase materials, reserve any equipment and/or travel expenses. Payment types accepted; Electronic direct deposit, Venmo, Check, or Paypal. Once the estimate is approved, a contract will be sent for review and signature.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I grew up around a father who was a land developer, designer, and art collector which was the beginning of my artistic journey. I worked for architecture and interior design firms in marketing with graphic design skills that helped shape my design, illustrations, and conceptual development.
