FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I meet with most students once a week for an hour. Some of them start with 45 minute lessons, which can be great for beginners or younger kids. I do offer 30 minutes as well, but it goes by so quickly that I recommend 45 minutes over 30 to start. I can do lessons at my home studio with is located in 90042, or I can travel to you for a small additional charge to cover the gas and time. When working with new students I like to discuss their goals and interests, and try to gauge what areas they could use help with to achieve those goals. I'm comfortable steering the lessons toward overall improvement, but I am also open to focusing specifically on what the student wants to learn.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been playing bass for over 19 years, and have also had some training on Guitar, Piano, Trombone, Voice, & Music Theory. I also just completed an Audio Engineering Certificate at Musicians Institute, and completed certifications for Pro Tools Operator & User. I received my AA Degree in Music Performance Bass Guitar from Los Angeles College of Music (LACM) in September 2012, and since then I've worked full-time as a freelance Bassist in Los Angeles, CA, playing with a variety of bands. Over the last 6 years I've averaged 125 gigs per year. Besides gigging I teach privately, work part-time at LACM as an ensemble player, as well as do producing & mixing for hire.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with beginners and seasoned players, young and old! No matter what age or level, I enjoy finding ways to improve my students abilities and understanding of music.
