- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge an hourly rate for my assembly services. Usually I don’t need to purchase supplies for assembly tasks but jobs that require mounting sometimes require special anchors or screws. In which case a small fee for those supplies will be added to the invoice total. However I always discuss this with my clients ahead of time so there are no surprises.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new customer I request that they provide me with item names & numbers or links to where I can take a look at the piece(s) that need to be assembled. This helps me get an idea of the amount of time the job will entail so that I can then provide as accurate of an estimate as possible for the client. Once the client and I have established a time frame and cost estimate, I’ll answer any questions they may have and then we can proceed to scheduling the task.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I grew up working in my Dad’s manufacturing shop. If I wasn’t organizing in the office, I was out on the floor, learning about the various assembly techniques. As a theater major in college, I gained a lot of experience in not only set design but also the actual building and assembling aspect too. In the spring of 2021 I joined another online task platform where I offered my assembling services. Within the course of that year I successfully completed over 100 assembly jobs. The jobs ranged from something as simple as a dining room chair to the more complex task of building a kid’s swing set and everything in between.
