FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Please know that my minimum booking fee is 300 dollars even if it's under an hour. For jobs that are further than 20 miles from home, I charge an extra fee to cover the expense of gas, time in the car, and maintenance. If you would like to add a second musician to the gig ( violin/ saxe/ second guitarist) it's possible !
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once we have spoken here it's good to speak on the phone, and then when you decide to hire me, I always ask the number of guests, the room, and how they feel about the music they want, it can be through specific songs, or music genre, or specific style ...also if they want more low key and background music or dancing or both. If it's a ceremony or funeral, where there is specific songs request, I can sometimes send a recording before they book. Once we agree on the style, the band members etc... I keep communicating with them about the song choices, or favorite songs. We always try to call or meet in person if time or distance allows it. I always draw a contract, and the day of the performance I always try to accommodate anything they would like me to do like announcements, help for the toast, invite the guest to dance etc.....I am super found of feeling I was part of their happiness, I understand this is a huge moment for them, they are the center of attention, and they are overwhelmed with a lot that day! So we are never coming as just "Performers " that will be separate from them, always try to make them feel we are part of their friends and family. During the event I always try to feel the crowd and fit my song choices too, I love when get involved too if they want, like singing a song etc... I always try to help them before with meeting to rehearse etc...
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am in the performing world since 20 years. I started acting on TV at 16, dancing at 8, I was performing on big stage and touring as a dancer at 20... I played hard for 15 years then piano, then guitar. I went to music school in Paris, LA, I learned Jazz there. I taught myself the guitar and started writing songs. I found my own style, my own way of doing any song, and this is what lead me to get more and more gigs. I can sing any style now, but my voice color fits Jazz, pop-jazz and folk the best .
