Introduction

My group will play straight-ahead jazz standards by artists like Miles Davis, Dexter Gordon, Duke Ellington, and Thelonius Monk. I love playing jazz music and hearing from my customers that they greatly enjoyed the music. I can work with you to customize the band for your event. Instruments include saxophone, trumpet, piano (or keyboard), guitar, acoustic bass, drums, and vocals. Note: if you are looking for smooth jazz (Kenny G), pure blues music (BB King) or pop music (Stevie Wonder), we are not going to be a good fit for you.

We hired Ken and his band for our wedding this past weekend and it was the BEST decision we could’ve made. My entire guest was entertained and enjoyed their meals and conversations with a beautiful jazz tune in the background. VERY affordable! I would definitely hire Ken in the future.

Ken Weiner’s band was AMAZING. I had booked them the year before my wedding. I conversed through email with Ken and it all worked out like a dream. The band truly was awesome. Played all the jazz hits and kept it going for hours. I couldn’t keep from tapping my heels and shaking my ‘tail feather’ during the reception time. They made the time very elegant, light and fun. My wedding was on August 20th. The day we had the hurricane alerts and torrential rains. Even a earthquake hit 40 minutes from where the wedding was taking place. Quite a few people had canceled hours before the ceremony but not Ken Weiner and his band. I felt truly blessed they were there. Many guests were talking about how wonderful the band was and a few of them knew of the band. They were fans of his. I can not express my gratitude enough for the trio. I was waiting to post the review hoping my photographer had taken a photo, still waiting on some of the photos to come in. Hoping he got one of the band and I can repost it later. Jazz music is a fave of mine and the Ken Weiner Jazz club blew us all away.

If you are looking for a jazz combo and have found this review, look no further! I hired Ken and his group to play for an intimate dinner party - my mom’s 80th- and it couldn’t have been more perfect!! Ken was easy to work with; and very professional. His group was punctual, professional, and friendly. And then there was the music! The perfect soundtrack of jazz standards, a little bossa nova- just perfect for the occasion! Do yourself a favor and work with Ken and his band!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been playing the tenor saxophone for 30+ years. I studied privately with the great woodwind player Bill Green. I played in jazz big bands and combos at UCLA and continue to perform at local venues and private events in 2-5 piece jazz combos.
