- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I love performing for a living. It's a blessing and an honor to be of service to people's "special moments!" Weddings, celebrations of life, birthday parties, corporate events, fundraisers and more. Depending on what the client is looking for, we work together on vibe and set list. I also determine what kind of sound system I need to bring (I have two: a Bose S1Pro with wireless mic for smaller events, a Peavey Traveller and mixer for larger events.) If there is sound at the venue, I coordinate with the contact there to be sure we are set well in advance of the gig! Finally, I make sure my clothing options and colors match the tone of the experience, anywhere from some fabulous gown to some kind of costume to everything in between.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I trained at Manhattan School of Music, I toured the US and Europe on my own as a singer-songwriter and also with a band before getting signed to an indie label and moving to Los Angeles. Since then, I've worked with amazing vocal coaches and acting teachers, performed in operas, musicals, film and television, recorded singles and albums of my own as well as for film scores and Broadway demo recordings... I currently sing every month in a cabaret that focuses on great 20th century rep (the Great American Songbook, Musicals from the 1940s-2000, etc). I'm always learning and growing!
