FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There is no standard pricing system, because many of the variables needed to determine a price are dependent on the clients need, budget and intent of use of the illustration.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a customer, new or old, I believe it is important to speak with the costumer first to fully understand the scope of their project, and address any questions the client may have. From this discourse, a contract can be formed within which the project is defined, a price and payment method are agreed upon and the extent of time the customer may use the created image is established. After the contract is drafted and signed, the preliminary stage can begin. It is in this initial stage when all the “work” is done, by with a series of sketches and comps for the client to review and provide feedback upon. This back and forth continues on for a couple of rounds, with each round growing in complexity: Line, Black and White, Full-Color. With the final comp in hand, and no other changes needed, the final image is created.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have graduated California State University of Long Beach College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustrations. I have also worked within the education field for 9 years.
