A lot of people call themselves actors but don't actually act, so first off, good on you for reaching out and taking your career into your own hands.
I've been a working actor for nearly 20 years. I was classically trained in NYC at The Circle In The Square Acting Conservatory and am currently based in Los Angeles, California.
I love every aspect of being an actor, from the rehearsal process and class, to showing up on set, researching a role, to the array of actors that I've worked with and how the work gets my creative juices flowing. It's been a rollercoaster of a career but I couldn't imagine doing anything else.
Having said that, coaching was not something that I set out to do but has happened rather organically. And this may not be what you want to hear, but to this day I still don't consider myself a coach. I see myself as an actor that loves to share my knowledge and experience with other actors so that they can live truthfully under imaginary circumstances.
Should we end up working together I would be coming from the place of a peer instead of a teacher or coach. There are so many teacher/gurus out there, and I believe you can learn a ton from them, but I have no interest in being praised by the actors that I work with. I refuse to play status and look at our work as two actors looking for truth. I can give you a scene but I won't pretend that I will have the right answer as to how to tackle it. There are of course infinite ways that a human being could approach a situation. But I promise that I will ask you questions that will get your imagination firing and your instincts pumping so that you can make what feels like the best choice for that moment and truly live the life of the human who's shoes you've stepped into.
I cater my coaching and pricing to each client's individual needs. More experienced actors often contact me to work scenes for auditions and to also act as their reader. For others that are just getting started or would like to keep their instrument sharp I develop on-going curriculums based on the goals that we determine together.
Either way, I'm excited by the opportunity to be your acting peer and truly help you grow as an artist and a person.
