FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Because I recently relocated to Huntington Beach, I am temporarily accepting students at $80/hour until I build up my local business, when I will resume with my $120/hour rate. I bill/schedule in quarter hours, and most of my students like to meet in 1.5-hour blocks, once or twice a week.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We always start with a full-length practice test to get an idea of a starting point (and maybe to determine SAT or ACT) which the student will self- proctor. We then discuss goals, concerns, and workload to build a customized study plan, which typically runs about 6-8 weeks up to a specific test date. There will be periodic practice tests throughout the prep to measure progress.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While my physics studies are helpful when tutoring physics, I draw on my experience as an AP/honors student in high school who also played 3 sports while competing on the robotics team. Furthermore, I have trained and certified as a teacher and tutor for both The Princeton Review and Kyo Standard, and I developed course materials for both companies. I have achieved scores in at least the 98th percentile on every test I tutor except the MCAT, where I only cover the Physics and Critical Analysis portions.
