Outstanding Construction and Hauling Services did an amazing job for us on our backyard. We were looking to completely overhaul and transform our backyard from a concrete, unusable space to a patio and lawn area where our toddler could play. Kirk of Outstanding Construction came up with a creative plan to accomplish what seemed to be a monumental task at the time. He and his team constructed our patio along with a retaining wall, lawn area, irrigation, and drainage. He also provided very helpful suggestions along the way and built a garden area and platform for our storage shed. Although the project took longer than we expected to complete due to weather, we are very pleased with the results and would highly recommend Outstanding Construction and Hauling Services' to anyone.

Kirk is an excellent construction person and such a great guy. We recently hired him to do some tenant improvements on a commercial space we were leasing. He not only worked really hard (and long hours) to meet our deadline, but he did a wonderful job as well. He is a pretty practical person who gives great advice based on his experiences. There are a few things (like putting a door in a certain area) that I am very glad that I listened to. Even though he had other jobs that needed his attention, he helped us move our stuff in and get settled. We were extremely lucky to have found him. He made our transition to our new space SO MUCH EASIER. I will definitely use him for any and all improvements that I plan to do in the future. Kirk and his team performed an interior remodel and a new garage build for my house from January 2011 to July 2011. I am satisfied with Kirks work. He is very experienced in new constructions and remodels. He did a very good job for a very good price. Kirk also gave me lots of free extras at his expense. In March 2010 I purchased a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom house in Union City, California. The house was in good structural condition, but as a foreclosured unit, it needed some rehabilitation. The original detached garage was in poor condition; it was badly damaged by termites and water. My intent was to have the detached garage demolished and completely rebuilt from the ground up. I planned on doing interior renovation at a later time. I found Kirk from craigslist and he had a link to his Thumbtack page. I called him and he came by to give me an estimate. He said he could give me a really good deal on a new garage and do an interior remodel for a little more than what I would have paid for the garage alone. Kirk was really enthusiastic about doing my job, much more so than the other contractors I had come to give me a bid. Kirk also had very good ideas about modernizing the interior. He suggested a bar counter between my kitchen and dining area. He would also turn my empty utility rooms into a master bedroom and master bathroom. And he wanted to create a laundry machine closet. Kirk had an architect draw the construction plans; his architect did a really nice job. He submitted it to the city as part of the permit application process. I wanted the work done with all permits so everything would be by the book. It would also help should I decide to sell the house at a later date. Kirk started out on the interior work first. He demolished the old kitchen and utility room. He built a new kitchen, a master bedroom, a master bathroom, a laundry machine closet, and a small coat closet by the front door. Kirk said he could also do a couple more things to the interior. He would do the labor for cheap if I paid for the materials. So I agreed and Kirk also replaced my front door, front window, and sliding glass door. He also remodeled my fireplace and fixed a bunch of broken things in my original bathroom. Kirk also completely rewired the house. The original wiring was a dangerous mess, a potential fire hazard. The interior work was completed towards the end of April 2011 and all the work was approved by the city inspector. It looked really nice. I received many compliments from friends and family. I am fairly picky with details and I did notice a couple flaws with fit and finish. I pointed out them out to Kirk. He and his workers did fix them. The garage work started immediately afterwards. The old garage was not worth saving so it was demolished and hauled away. The original foundation was unusable. So Kirk jackhammered it out. Kirk poured a new heavy-duty foundation onto an extensive frame of rebar. He tied it into the house foundation. Then he framed the new oversized 510 square foot garage. Kirk added a storage attic with a pull-down ladder. Kirk also poured a new driveway that looked excellent. Kirk added a 50 amp subpanel to the garage. He also gave me a bunch of free extras like wall insulation. Kirk also used roof panels coated with an aluminum heat reflective substance. The garage was completed by the end of July 2011. It looked really nice. Like the interior, I also received compliments from friends and family. The above garage attic storage with the pull-down ladder was really useful. The garage also passed city inspection. There were also a few issues with fit and finish in the garage. Kirk fixed the problems that I pointed out. While the garage was being built, Kirk also repaired my patio awning and side perimeter fence. He did an excellent job on them. One lady even drove by, stopped, and complimented on how nice the outside looks. I am overall satisfied with Kirks work. He really transformed my house. Since everything was done with permits, I now have a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house on county and city records. If you want to see his work on my house, ask Kirk to give you my phone number.

We had Outstanding construction do a full interior remodel (Kitchens/Bathrooms) including landscaping front/rear. Concrete patio and side walkway of my Moms home in Belmont. House was in need of major upgrades throughout. Entire interior was re-textured / crown moulding / kitchen demo/replace including appliances. Because KC has his own dump truck is very convenient for haul out of debris as well as pickup of landscape and other materials for the job as the job progresses. KC did have good suggestions and has the contacts to get good pricing on quality products such as Brick/cabinetry/foam accents/windows etc. Kirk and his team work very hard are conscientious and keep a tidy jobsite. He will work with any of your own subcontractors but will also provide contact details for folks he has worked with in the past. Pricing was fair after the whole job was done although it did take longer and cost more than originally estimated but from what I hear this is normal for larger re-model projects because there are so many moving parts. He had the plans drawn up and went to the city to obtain the permits...so no problems with any of the intermediate city inspections and achieved permit sign off . Our realtor who was checking in periodically on the projects progress was very impressed with the end result as was his colleagues who came to see the finished product. As testament to how well the finished product was received, when we put it on the market it sold in 7 days with multiple offers over asking. Granted alot of that had to do with the location but it also had a lot to do with the "Pop" the house had after the remodel was completed... people that looked at it were very impressed with the finished product.

I try to figure how long & type materials we are going to use this always affects price i dont like to use products that i know are going to be problems down the road.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Just new products that come out watch other jobs to see if they hold up & work as advertised for longevity alot of time a new product comes out then there are problems or dont hold up as advertised. This becomes a problem so i usually make recomendations.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
i worked on my own properties for myself for 15 + years before becoming a contractor. Iworked on my own properties doing major to minor repairs, foundations rehabbing ect. before that many other realated jobs in the building industries, I was also in termite repair trade for a brief time this was very valuable expeirience. so iam very knoledgable what to look for tell tale signs of major unforseen damage sometimes.
