Introduction

Gino Rose. I am a working professional actor, performance artist, director, and active educator with extensive experience working with both children, young adults, and adults. I was most recently on the faculty of the Meisner Technique Studio, and have been a faculty member of American Conservatory Theatre, Young Conservatory; a professor of Acting at Academy of Art University; and an adjunct professor at Hult International Business School, teaching video and art history. I have also been teaching two levels of Acting For The Camera at Marin Theatre Company Actors often feel like they are alone in their process, or not clearly seen by their directors — who are always under time pressure. I love being able to collaborate with actors to help them grasp the essences of the parts they are playing, in a way that harmonizes with their director's vision. And of course, I enjoy helping actors prepare for their auditions. I am a life-long student myself, taking courses in acting technique, and solo performance, writing and performing. I also have a background in video and film production. I am a long time director, producer, and writer in the video and television field, through my own production company, Grayfox Productions. I specialize in marketing communications, and my productions have won international awards, including the CINE Golden Eagle. I am also an experienced multi-camera, live television director. I have an MFA in Television and Film from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. I have made a specialty of preparing, training, coaching and directing individuals — including Fortune 500 CEO's — to make powerful and persuasive presentations both on-camera, on large stages, and in small groups. Many of my production clients have relied on me to coach them in presentation. For that reason, a number of my acting students have worked extensively with me to improve their professional and personal presentation skills, as well as their acting skills.

Working with Gino is the highlight of my week. I am actively taking classes in Public Speaking and Acting, but as I often joke around with him, I feel like I am also talking to a Psychologist with how great I feel after his classes. Gino is simply an expert at what he does. But more importantly I would say, is that he is also a natural teacher. He consistently provides knowledgable feedback in our assignments, in a way that both makes sense to me, and builds my confidence. He has mastered the art of teaching. If the caliber of the Pros on thumbtack are at Gino's level, then kudos to them. At $50 an hour, with Gino's years of experience, I consistently find myself feeling like I struck gold. I assume many people find themselves taking public speaking courses and acting courses from him for a specific event they might have in mind (and he is likely the best option for them in that), but in my case, my goals which are more in the realm of personal improvement, are actively being achieved through my classes with him as well. I see myself as a better orator, communicator, thinker all because of him. I will continue to take courses from him, as long as he chooses to offer them. Thank you Gino.

We almost have no word for how happy and lucky we have been to come across Gino! He is not only the sweetest and nicest person you'll ever come across, he is exceptionally skilled in what he does; His knowledge about theater and acting, combined with his many years of experience, his enthusiasm and pedagogical way of teaching makes him an outstanding teacher! Me and my daughter (11) decided to do this together - me because I once used to be a drama teacher many years ago, and am in deep need to freshen up my knowledge in order to be able to better help my daughter who wants to become and actress. This - the two of us, together with Gino has been a great combination; He let's us come with suggestions and ask questions, be active, teach us exactly what we want or need, and keeps it very relevant regarding auditions etc. I hope we can keep doing this - his price is not at all unreasonable but it will add up off course; So far the money has been totally worth it!

Gino was my teacher at the Meisner Technique Studio of San Francisco. He has coached me for auditions. I've also had the pleasure of acting opposite him. Gino is a highly knowledgeable director, teacher and coach. He comes up with useful ideas for improving a performance. He helped me find subtleties I would never have thought of. He is very sensitive toward actors. He communicates clearly and is supportive. He gives you feedback that keeps you relaxed and growing in a part. I hope to turn to him again to improve performances and auditions. He's a gold mine.

I must say that Gino Rose is one of the most beautiful human beings and kindest souls I've ever met. I've known him since 2012 when I became a student at the Meisner Technique Studio and since then, I've had the great pleasure of helping Gino on his projects. He is very hardworking and takes his craft very seriously as he should. He is also just a wonderful man filled with just great life experiences, his stories are the best. I stage managed his one man show, The Former Gene Thomas, written an directed by himself, where he told stories of his childhood and important people in his life. Gino is a warrior and he definitely is someone who commands respect because he has earned it. He supports his artistic families, he cares and I wish him only the best in every endeavor he partakes in. Love you Gino!!

Gino is a fantastic teacher with years of experience. Finding an acting teacher can be a daunting and overwhelming process. Lot's of people claim to be teachers--most are not. Gino is the real deal. He has a deep knowledge of the Meisner Technique and other approaches and his teaching style resonated with me as well as pushed and challenged me, helping me deepen my craft and boost my self-confidence. He is a consummate professional and very intuitive and patient in his approach with actors. I am so grateful to have found Gino as a teacher and a mentor. Each teaching session left me with renewed energy, and inspiration to learn more and more.
