FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My hourly rate is the same for up to 4 people! This means that you can practice yoga with your significant other, family members or friends if you like. I have worked with many couples who found that adding yoga to their routine was a great addition to their relationship.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My first questions are: -What are you hoping to gain from your yoga experience? Are you practicing because you have pain, you want to lose weight, change your relationship with your body, reduce stress, become stronger and more flexible? -Do you have any injuries or health concerns that I should know about? If you do have an injury or health concern, this could completely change the way that we practice. We may target certain areas with the poses and we may complete avoid other types of poses. It will also affect the pacing and mood of the class as well.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed my first teacher training in India in 2013 at Rishikul Yogshala. I then completed my 500 hour teacher training with YogaWorks in LA. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. I also have a Master's Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and recently passed my California Acupuncture License Exam. All of these trainings are relevant to the way that I teach yoga. From my training in India, I understand the culture of yoga because I was fully immersed in many of the practices that are left out of American yoga. Because I have additional training in health care, I have a deeper understanding of anatomy, injuries and diseases and can bring all of this knowledge to my classes. My understanding of Acupuncture is also relevant to my classes because sometimes I will teach poses because of the pressure points that they are stimulating.
