Introduction
I love teaching because I find it very rewarding to watch my students develop into better versions of themselves musically. Although I am an active professional musician myself, I feel that teaching is equally as important as performing. I have been privileged to experience the joy of performing jazz at a high level for many years, and I have a strong desire to see my students experience a similar joy of following their musical passions. Whether this means being able to play the chord progression for a favorite song or being able to compose and perform at a professional level, I take pride in imparting knowledge that takes students to where they want to be.

I took piano lessons in LA from Michael Orenstein. He's a very knowledgeable, patient, and fun teacher. He tailored our lessons in a way worked well for my learning style. We started with basic fundamentals and went all the way up to jazz chords. I still think about and use all the different chords he showed me. He also gave me lots of helpful handouts and exercises. Michael is a working musician which gave him lots of real life insights into music. I highly recommend studying with Michael if you are a student at any level!

If you are interested in learning piano, I highly recommend taking lessons from Michael. I wanted to try out piano, and started taking lessons from him and have been having the best time. He is motivating, keeps it interesting, and has tailored our learning style directly to me. He teaches in a way where you are not just learning piano, you’re also playing piano while you learn. He is super good at explaining things and has the best personality for teaching. He is super professional, easy to get in touch with, professional, comfortable to be around, and flat out fun to work with. For what it’s worth, I even moved to another city and am still keeping my lessons with him cause it’s so worth it to me. 10/10 recommend!
