- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Q: WHAT LIVE ILLUSTRATION SERVICES DO YOU OFFER? A: My main services include Live Portrait Sketching for private and corporate events for humans and pets (all species welcome!). Please feel free to get in touch with any ideas you may have for an event -- I'm always open to trying something new! Q: WHAT IS YOUR PRICING FOR LIVE ILLUSTRATION or CUSTOM ARTWORK? A: Live Event Illustration rates will vary by duration and location, but in general I provide a flat rate/amount that includes time/travel/materials, and any other additional services required. Non-Local events (beyond 1 hour one-way commute) may have an adjusted rate to include additional travel time and costs. Holiday or evening rates may apply. Q: WHICH PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT? Currently payments may be submitted by Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal invoice. To reserve the date, a non-refundable booking fee will be required at the time of booking, along with any additional event fees such as upfront travel costs, custom materials fees, or other uncommon fees. Remaining event balances may be refundable depending on event specifics, and are due the day of the event or upon completion of the commission, and may be paid by cash, Venmo, Zelle, PayPal invoice. Q: DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS? A: Currently I do have a special offer starting 2025 for Early Week Events: $50 OFF your quote + free logo printing for new live illustration bookings scheduled Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings (10AM or earlier start time). Mention code EARLYBIRDS🐥 to apply offer. Updated 02/13/25 Q: WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU USE? A: For events, my standard materials include 9"x12" 100# sheets, brush pen markers like Tombow or Kuretake Zig, and ink brush pens for fine details. Guests will also receive plastic sleeves to protect their drawings from spills and stains throughout the event. Q: DO YOU OFFER CUSTOMIZATION SERVICES FOR LIVE ILLUSTRATION? A: Yes, I currently offer logo printing for an additional fee in either black/white or color. Or, with 3-4 weeks notice I can also order a custom physical stamp to manually brand the papers, which the client can then keep afterward for their own personal use. - What types of customers have you worked with?
My customers include both private clients and public companies, as well as guests of all ages from 1 to 100! I am happy to support all event types including birthdays, graduations, and weddings for private clients, as well as coordinating with corporate teams for team building and promotional events.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Q: WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO BOOK? A: If there is a specific artist you'd like for your event, the best thing to do is book early! If your desired date has already been claimed, occasionally I am able to schedule two events per day, however this is not always possible depending on event duration and location. Please consider booking at least 3-4 months in advance for best chances of securing your preferred time slot. If the event date is flexible, customers may also wish to schedule for an early weekday as there is much less competition then. Top busy days tend to be Thursday through Sunday. Q: WHAT IS YOUR GENERAL BOOKING POLICY? A: - BOOKING ORDER: In general, once event availability is confirmed I will typically accept reservations based on whichever client submits their booking fee first. - BOOKING FEE AMOUNT: The amount of the booking fee may vary by event and total costs involved, and is typically non-refundable. - ACCEPTED PAY METHODS: Bookings fees are payable by Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal invoice. - AVAILABILITY NOTIFICATIONS: Due to the high number of requests throughout the year, unfortunately it is not possible for me to regularly update all potential clients on competing inquiries for the same event date or if another party seems likely to book. As a personal policy, I am also against pressuring clients into making a booking decision based on creating an impression of scarcity. That being said, should any client explicitly request it I am happy to provide the number of current inquiries for their event date, notify them if I later receive a competing inquiry, or share my historical data on estimated peak booking periods for their date. Q: WHAT QUALITIES SHOULD I LOOK FOR IN AN ARTIST? A: Once you've found an artist whose style you enjoy, you might ask: what kind of atmosphere do you want for your event? Based on their previous client reviews, will this person match or add to the energy of your guests? A quick call or message with the artist can be a great way to determine if they're a good fit.
