My first time back on a horse in about 10 years, though I have about 26 years experience riding in hunters/jumpers with half of those riding competively. I was very impressed with Natalie's ability to quickly assess my own skill level and provide me with a lesson which was a nice balance of a workout I'm familiar with and comfortable doing along with just the right amount of some more challenging tasks for me to work on. She never came across as condesending in any way and her instructions always came from a place of recognition and acknowledgement of the rirding experience I already have while still introducing me to new concepts, techniques, and aspects of riding, especially with respect to other disciplines (dressage, in this case). I am very excited and look forward to continuing my training under Natalie. I am so grateful for this chance to expand on my equestrian experience and for the opportunity to draw from a broader wealth of knowledge in equestrian sport than I previously had encounterted in one place. instructions and pointers

I had no experience with horses. I went elsewhere for my first riding lessons Nov-Dec 2015. I took a break because I was feeling frustrated, humiliated, and like a loser. I wanted to cry after each lesson. I couldn't even tack up any lesson horse cause did you know some horses can do a fierce roundhouse kick with their back legs? Thus, that was not a great start with establishing equine leadership. I wasn't cognizant of it at the time. I kept thinking I was a failure. Bah Humbug to that! I decided around June 2016 that I wasn't going to let anyone destroy my motivation for learning how to ride. So I went online, found Thumbtack, and figured, "Why not try again?" That's how I found Four Star Farm! Natalie knows how to bring out the best in her horses, her students, and her staff. I don't leave my lessons crying on the way home. I'm trying my best, and I'm aware, "It's a process." She provides formal educational workshops to help her students learn more than the physical tasks of riding. These workshops are helpful because you realize that it really is, "All in your head." That is, your perspective (and practice, practice, practice) can determine your success. Ah-ha moment: These concepts are applicable to life outside the arena. Natalie is an amazing role model. She inspires people to live their dreams. I think it's her nature and embedded in her DNA. She leads by example. Natalie has such a positive disposition, as well as her staff. It's the kind of atmosphere that makes you wanna ride even more! Four Star Farm is a positive part of my life. So many life lessons (common sense, leadership, learning how to trust and believe in yourself) going on in the riding arena. Oh, let's not forget the satisfaction of flow/ communication in a healthy human+equine relationship, AND the good times cantering!!! My daughter will start taking lessons from Four Star Farm by mid-December 2016. I am going to give her the opportunity that I didn't have growing up. She's been to FSF (Four Star Farm) to watch and is excited to be a part of the equine/human herd. I know it's going to change her mindset for the better. I feel blessed for finding this riding school/community.

I have been riding with Natalie for several months now and have loved every lesson. Natalie has an incredible array of horses, each with its own lesson to teach. I have been able to experience dressage movements that have escaped my comprehension for years and I never thought that at my age (62) I would be jumping again! If you really want to go somewhere with your riding, Natalie has the knowledge and experience to take you there.

I recently brought Natalie my green chestnut thoroughbred mare who resembled more of a fire breathing dragon than a horse. In just a few months my girl is happier and totally rideable. The transformation has been really remarkable. Natalie was very patient and calm while working through her reactivity to the aids. My horse now understands what is being asked of her and is now happier and much calmer. Although we still have a lot of work to do, I'm looking forward to all we can accomplish in the future. Natalie's lessons are always challenging and interesting. And her lesson horses are amazing!!! Can't say enough good things!
