FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I'm always happy to give out discounts in exchange for reviews. :) Don't let my rate hinder you from reaching out! My rates are always negotiable.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically I like to have a quick discussion with the parent and with the student to understand where the student is at and what their goals are. I check if there are any upcoming quizzes and tests we should keep an eye on, as well as how comfortable they feel with the material to start. This helps me determine whether we should focus on practicing the basics or picking out particularly challenging problems. I also like to get a sense for their test-taking skills and practices so I can guide them to be a better overall student.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my undergraduate degree in physics from MIT as well as my Ph.D. in physics at UCLA. As a teaching assistant at UCLA, I took a seminar in teaching college-level physics, after which I taught 8 quarters. At the same time, I gathered >150 hours tutoring local high school students in math and sciences.
