I offer a free first lesson so we can get acquainted and make sure we are a good match. There is no obligation to choose me as your teacher.

Each student is different. I design a program to suit the student.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
When Jennifer Paterson started lesson at the age of 6 she had no idea that the most interesting, inspiring and joyful people and experiences she would have in her life would be through those connections she has made through music. Jennifer feels fortunate to have degrees from The Royal Conservatory of Toronto, a Masters of Music from Boston University, and the University of British Columbia. She was the recipient of the Canada Council Award to study at the Royal Opera house in London (Covent Garden) and was the principal Soprano for the New England Chamber Opera. She has thrilled audiences with her exceptional performances of classical and popular music throughout the United States, Canada and Europe and has released several recordings. Jennifer has performed in almost every genre of music. Her leading roles include Maria in West Side Story and Carrie in Carousel among many others. She originated the role of Phoebe in the world premiere of Le Devin du Village by Rousseau with the Boston Early Music group, The Friends of Doctor Burney. Jennifer is one of the most distinguished teacher in the San Diego area and teaches piano and voice to students of all ages and all styles. Jennifer enjoys teaching student of all ages and many styles. The solid technique she works with, serves her students who perform in all genres of music. She works quickly and is very goal oriented with every student, whether they are studying music for the sheer fun of it, or if it is to perform in major venues throughout the world. She makes music fun!
