We realize that selling a home can be a very emotional experience. Saying goodbye to the home you once loved can be scary and difficult. Packing boxes accumulate in rooms staring at you and begging to be filled, yet the very thought of placing one book into the box becomes daunting and paralyizing. When we first met our clients from 2220 N. Valley Street in Burbank we entered a living room empty of everything but a couch and TV, we thought they were packed and ready to go, until we stepped into the family room! There in one room was the accumulation of years in one home. Everything from dusty Christmas decorations to never worn doggy Halloween costumes. Piles and piles of things that once mattered, still mattered, and never mattered at all, waiting to be told what to do and where to go. Our clients waded in the middle of their cardboard sea as waves of dusty boxes pulled them under. We threw them a life line and got to work! This is where we shine. This is where we go above and beyond what is expected of an agent. We spent one month of weekends and many weekday afternoons at this home long before we listed. We discarded of things they no longer wanted, donated things others may need, packed away that which would move to the new home, and priced the rest for a garage sale. By spending so much time with our clients prior to listing, we really had an opportunity to get to know them, and to get to know the house. The weekend before our first Open House we held the garage sale! We cannot stress how a simple garage sale can introduce an agent to the entire neighborhood and also give people a sneak peek at the home. We do not get paid to help with the packing and sorting and organizing but we feel it is more valuable than our commission. Not only do we form strong bonds with our clients ( of whom we still keep in contact with even though they moved to Tennessee) but we received a referral from a neighbor for the sale of 2 properties. We believe that when we do our best and give our best, it comes back to us in the most wonderful ways.
