Hi - My piano lessons are truly goal-changing. I teach music as a language, giving the student specific exercises to place in the subconscious. These are serious lessons. I want you to succeed. Once you can "speak" music, music is effortless and fun (See Kenny Werner). All my regular students have free access to all my courses. My lessons are 45 minutes. I teach in an organized Step-by-Step approach. The goal is to create a spontaneous, creative and meaningful music language in the subconscious. It Works! Special: First lesson is $40 (reg $65). My main interest is teaching pianists to improvise music. That is the most fun and life-changing. I'm only interested in teaching students who are serious about achieving their musical goals. Working with Martan is great! He completely loves what he does, and that passion flows through his lessons. The workload is hefty, but it has to be if you want to learn to play piano - there is so much to know. Martan knows it, and he very much wants his students to know it. I wish I had more personal time to improve my skills as quickly as his lessons deserve it, but I work with what I have and have been improving steadily.

My relationship with Mr. Martan Mann began when I purchased his book, Improvising Blues Piano. On page seven of the book, Martan makes multiple references to the subconscious. I immediately connected with his philosophy. I now study privately with Martan. He guidance has caused me to closely observe the mixolydian mode and its application to the blues. I’ve been taking lessons from Martan for more than a year now and continuing on. He’s a fantastic musician. I consider him as my true “guru”. He has a very unique and exceptional teaching ability which will lay a great foundation for any level student in terms of music theory, reading, writing, technique and thinking music in general. Martan is a kind of teacher who pushes you and challenges you which is what I love about him. His goal is to get you better/best. Very disciplined, methodical, professional and pays great attention to details. He is very friendly and lovable teacher. In this 1+ plus year journey theres not a single lesson that I didn't enjoy. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I teach 45 min. lessons. The lessons develop essential skills in the subconscious. This is like learning a new language. If you study consistently, you will be able to improvise on the piano. You will know the joy of music.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
MA in Classical Piano. I've authored three books on jazz improvisation and am the creator of the online piano course, JazzSkills for Piano. You will have a complimentary subscription to JSFP if you study regularly with me.
