This was the first time I've ever used a videographer for business, and Ilja exceeded my expectations by far. From the initial communication process where he told me what to expect, how to prepare, etc. through the day of the shoot, to post production - Ilja guided me along and I ended up with a very professional product. I would definitely use him again and enthusiastically recommend him. He was VERY patient with me, as there were a few months between when he did the video and when I provided him with the other ancillary information necessary for him to finish the video. All of my requests were fulfilled - from cropping\zooming, editing and splicing different takes because I screwed up (!). I also felt like it was an excellent value - I have a very small business, and was concerned that I wouldn't be able to afford something like this. There were a number of times that Ilja made suggestions based on his experience, and these were very welcome. Thank you Ilja!

Ilja was tasked with producing an introduction video for my startup. He broke down the steps involved in producing a video for me. Once I gave him a preliminary script, he structured it in the proper production format, and patiently revised it with me, till we got it to an acceptable length, without losing any important details. He found the most suitable voice-over artist to record the script. The video was put together very professionally after that he was accommodative in receiving feedback, several times, and diligently worked on incorporating it each time, till an excellent video was produced I am very happy with the final result!

Ilja from ISDesigns was a pleasure to work with! Our company CEO was presenting with one of our main clients at a conference in SF Union Square (Sept. 2016) and we needed to turn the presentation into a video, and we needed it to show the presentation as well as a screen with a high-resolution version of the slides. From the start, Ilja was friendly, a good listener to our needs, and communicative about his process. He planned to set up ahead of time, and was good at improvising when something minor came up at the presentation that was out of his control. Ilja's post-production work was excellent! He really listened to my vision, kept our branding consistent and also made suggestions when he saw fit. I would not hesitate to hire him again next time we need his services in SF area. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
ISDesigns produces customized video projects that are designed to meet your specific needs. While for a lot of projects I can apply an umbrella price, many projects are unique, require different types of equipment and a different approach to develop a strategy. The typical question "How much does a 1-2 minute video cost?" will give you a quote range that's not helpful. "How much does a car cost? Or a house?" Don't compare the numbers, look at the building blocks and the content. Often I can adjust my initial quote, once we've discussed the project in more detail.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Every customer has a unique set of desires and goals for their project, may it be video, photos or motion graphics. This is what makes my job so fascinating and fun. I usually collect as much information as I can about the customer's project, so that I can give an accurate customized quote. If the customer agrees with the above, we exchange contact information so that I can setup a customer account which later helps with communication, agreements and invoices. We then proceed to develop a strategy for production and post production before the hands-on work begins.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a professionally trained videographer, editor and filmmaker. I studied video and multimedia at Berkeley, CA. Every professional in the field has to stay on top of things. Especially in the fast paced digital media world, where new equipment and software is being introduced almost on a daily basis. One cannot rest. You take a break, you fall behind. Attending seminars and networking events to collaborate and learn the latest trends is an important factor in my business.
