FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For yoga classes, I charge between $115-150 for an hour class (depending on the class size and distance). For private voice lessons, I charge $50 for 30 min, $65 for 45 min, and $75 for 1 hour lesson. There may be an additional fee for clients I am traveling to.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I trained in music, theater and human development at UC San Diego, and I've been studying voice and performing for over 20 years. I'm also a certified yoga instructor, and I've been teaching people how to become more in touch with their bodies and relax using mindfulness techniques for over ten years. I've studied Vocal Pedagogy with Berklee School of Music, and I will be taking their Rock and Pop course this year to further my knowledge of instructing contemporary voice. As a yoga teacher, I've studied yoga and meditation for 17 years. I am a 300 hour E-RYT, and am trained in vinyasa, hatha, yin yoga, gentle yoga, and yoga for kids. I am also CPR certified and continue to study anatomy and various styles of movement.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved to sing, and I've always loved to teach and help people reach their goals. A few years ago the Music Director of a choir I was section leading for asked me if I'd be available to teach voice lessons. After some thought, I decided that was the direction I'd like to go! I brushed off my piano, trained in Vocal Pedagogy, and began offering lessons to my friends and colleagues. Soon after I realized what a match made in heaven voice teaching was for me!
