My daughter Isabella is in 5th grade and is struggling in Math. Luckily, I found her a tutor! She’s had a few sessions with Ralph, and I could see an improvement. After the first session, I asked Isabella what did she think of it and the tutor? She told me he is the most patient, smart and sweetest math tutor!! I could see an improvement already. She does her homework on her own with no struggles. I will continue to work with Ralph. We are very happy and lucky to have found him!!

Mr. Ralph has been my tutor for YEARS. He tutored me throughout my entire 4th grade year as I had been taken out of public school for health reasons. I'm now a junior in high school and he has, once again, helped me out to an incredible extent with both my math and chemistry class. He's helped me understand subjects that my teacher in school failed to teach me in less than half the time. His explanations are clear and concise, going through each step meanwhile explaining why you take that step. Overall, he's an incredible tutor and 100% deserves these five stars!

My gracious review was written by the student: Jessica. While she's certainly one of the brightest individuals I've ever taught, she's no doubt among the most uniquely gifted. At the age of 10, she had pi memorized out to 40 digits. At that time, she also possessed a youthful enthusiasm for Chemistry, and her favorite element was Einsteinium (Es). Who chooses Einsteinium? Jessica, of course. Folks, she's come a long scholarly way from Area Method Multiplication!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rates are usually offered in the range: $18 to $26 per hour, and correlates directly with the grade level for a given subject. Discounts are available for the 1st hour of the 1st lesson.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once hired via the Thumbtack protocol, the customer and I may have to exchange several texts before a conversation is possible. Then, we discuss what days and times are best, duration of a lesson, initial topics within the specific subject, confirmation of the rates, agree to a method of payment, and so forth.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I periodically tutored and was a teaching assistant (TA) while earning a BS in chemistry,and performed TA duties for three semesters as a doctoral candidate. More important, I have classroom taught or tutored, chemistry or math, for the past 14 years.
