What went well:
Orrett is a skilled photographer--and his photos are of good quality. But that's not what makes him great for events, since there are plenty others who can take good photos.
What sets Orrett apart is his clear vision of the finished product. He knows what he wants the end product to look like, and he orchestrated each shot accordingly. Trust me, you need a photographer who actually has an artistic vision, so you don't need to tell him what to do.
I do have 1 suggestion for Orrett. In the future, he should request 1 helper from the Bride/Groom in wedding events to stand by him the whole time during the family photo-shoot, and have that helper fix the Bridal gown throughout the process. This will both save time and make sure her gown looks tip-top.
I came to this conclusion after viewing a few of our post-ceremony family/friends photos.
I didn't dock off any points for this--because I didn't think of this myself at the time, and hindsight 20/20. But for Orrett, who will do this for many weddings to come, it may be good to start thinking about that.
I'm still waiting on my video, but only 1.5 month has passed, so I have no complaint about the leadtime. Once I have viewed the video...I'll post a video-based review."See more
