FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Since every project is unique, I build out a Proposal for work based on the number of hours I estimate it will take to complete the job. First we would meet at your job site to discuss your needs, timeline & budget and then I would send along your personalized Proposal based on that meeting! If approved, I would send an Agreement outlining the exact scope of work & the deliverables. Anything outside of that scope of work is billed hourly.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Meeting a new client on their job site is always my first step! Sometimes it's helpful to have a quick chat over the phone so that I can arrive to our first meeting prepared for the scope of work and style you're going for, but not always necessary. Our first meeting will usually take about an hour, while I get to know the details of what you're looking for. Next I would send a Proposal based on that first meeting, and then we would sign an Agreement that protects both parties as we move through the design. Depending on how large the project is, we will likely have 1-2 additional meetings going over every last detail about your preferences, lifestyle, budget, and more! From there we would schedule our first Design Presentation (always so exciting!), and then begin the revision process. The Client & Interior Designer relationship is very much a partnership, and it's so much fun getting to know new people and their familes.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in this industry for 12 years and have had the pleasure of working all over the country and in a myriad of different roles. I have worked on Model Homes in SoCal, high-end historic homes in Portland, and gorgeous beach bungalows in Florida. Each geographic location has allowed me to learn valuable details about building styles, renovation secrets, how to blend styles and so much more. I am and have been very hands-on as far as the construction side of design goes, and love everything about the craziness of a renovation.
