Came out to provide an estimate. Left saying they would email me. Never received an estimate, I had to call them to find out that they decided not to even provide an estimate and didn't let me know ahead of time.

The initial interaction was pleasant. Jordan, the owner’s nephew, walked me through design options and shared the company’s history, which I appreciated. They provided three pricing options: a one-year plan, a 9-day plan, and an “out-the-door” price. The quotes ranged from $14,000 to $17,000. The “out-the-door” option required me to make a decision on the spot, which I was not comfortable with. After expressing hesitation, Jordan contacted his uncle and returned with a revised out-the-door price of $12,700, including a 2% cash discount. He also encouraged me to apply for financing to lock in the price. I ultimately signed a contract for $12,500, which reflected the 2% cash discount. After signing, Jordan asked me to send my card number, but I declined and stated I would prefer to make the payment in person at the office. Shortly after, I received a call stating they had undercharged me and that the actual cost of the deck would be $25,000—double the agreed contract price. This experience was extremely concerning and unprofessional. I would not recommend this company.

Details: New deck or porch construction • No existing plans, I need suggestions • Composite or vinyl decking • Residential • Owner

Very professional interaction to start and I had high hopes. That enthusiasm quickly diminished after receiveing their extremely inflated estimate. Believe it or not, they wanted $13-15k for a 7x11 ft deck to be built over an existing 9x6 concrete back porch. Think about that for a second, laying pressure treated wood over an existing concrete porch foundation, two stairs, no railings, $15k? I was born in the daytime but not yesterday. Based on the other estimates I've gotten so far this job should run $3.5k max. Hard pass.

Details: Remodel or renovation of existing deck or porch • No existing plans, but I know what I want • Residential
