- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing varies on each job. Some housekeeping projects require carpet shampooing while others don’t even have carpet. Some jobs may have 4-5 bedrooms but only living areas need to be cleaned. It’s important to communicate pricing if your needs aren’t the ones automatically quoted on Thumbtack.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get to know my customers and needs. If there are areas of the home that are priority I like to focus on that. Getting to know my clients means understanding their priorities in cleanings, respecting their privacy, discussing the products they like and dislike. I also like to discuss how much time I’ll have with them, this way I know if I have a day to clean the house one time or if over time we will be scheduling regular cleanings that allow me to slowly deep clean over time. I also like to know all members of the house and make sure they’re comfortable with me, this includes children and fur babies!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Real estate agents, long term landlords and short term landlords including AirBnb property managers. Work from home employees, busy parents and business owners who just need support with housekeeping.
