One Sunday I was in the shop doing paperwork, a woman called then came in crying because she needed a replacement key for her notebook so she could hock it to pay her rent. I dug through old notebook keyboards found a key that worked and fixed her notebook. There was no charge.

Do they have roots, a retail store and/or a home in this town. Not just working out of their car/truck.
