FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every first 'trial' lesson is free. I do this as a courtesy to my potential students to show them what lessons in this studio. All lessons are charged for on a monthly basis. A month with four half-hour lessons will cost $100; a month with four forty-five minute lessons will cost $150; and a month with four one-hour lessons will cost $190. Tuition (covering the cost of out of lesson preparation and administration time, additional materials, recital fees, professional development, and professional organization memberships) are divided into 12 instalments, due at the lesson after the 'trial' lesson, then at the first lesson of each month. A fee of $25 will be charged for payments made eight days after the due date; the fee for NSF checks is $35.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once payments are agreed upon and appointments are scheduled, our first meeting will partially be an assessment of what the student needs. I will help them through any major difficulties they have and from there I will plan how to make future lessons as productive as possible. I will discuss studio policies with parents and answer any questions the parents or student may have.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I currently hold a Bachelor's Degree in Music with Emphasis in Piano. I have experience studying pedagogy, teaching piano classes and one on one lessons, and tutoring college-level music theory. I have been studying piano for nearly twelve years and can teach various styles of music ranging from jazz to classical to contemporary.
