These guys are crooks and very sleazy. I reached out to them to help my elderly uncle, who is in a nursing home, to help him create a trust as he has terminal cancer. My initial conversation was with Doug Harding who, after the fact, I find out is not an attorney nor has any competency in estate planning or other legal matters. I specifically told Doug that I wanted an attorney to visit with my uncle and help him determine what he wanted to do with his estate in his trust. Then I wanted to have the attorney visit him to execute it as he explains everything that he is implementing and signing. The first red flag was instead of meeting with my uncle to sign an engagement letter, they simply sent it to me and wanted me to sign his name, which I didn’t. This is fraud. The second red flag was they sent me a standard questionnaire on how the assets were to be distributed. I refused to fill this out and told them that I didn’t want anything to do with responding to these questions as it not my role to determine these things. Then Doug calls my uncle about 4 times on the phone totaling 20 minutes of conversation (I have phone records proving this), the longest one was 13 minutes. From this short time with no face to face interaction, determined that he wanted everything to go to me. This was not what he wanted and was completely fabricated, but was much easier than actually doing any work. Then they sent me the forms from a template and my uncles name filled in and told me to have a notary execute them. And said their obligation was complete. My uncle has very bad eyesight and could not possible read all these documents which is why I wanted an attorney to be there with him in person to review before executing them. All in all, I paid $3,000 for a person who had no legal expertise to spend 20min on the phone to get information to create a trust, then refused to refund my $ when I highlighted their lack of legitimate work and things that were not done that were promised. THE ENGAGEMENT LETTER WAS NEVER SIGNED!!! MY UNCLE HAD ZERO INTERACTION WITH AN ATTORNEY AND NO IN PERSON MEETING WITH ANYBODY. Joseph Stead is a fraud

We offer reasonable rates for all services and guarantee that we will always exceed your expectations. Most estate planning documents start at a low flat-rate so you will never receive a surprise bill. We also offer discounted rates for seniors, low-income individuals, and all veterans! We strive to assist everyone in our community from every walk of life and all income levels.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We first start with a brief phone call to discuss the scope of your project. Next, we will schedule a time to have a detailed conversation about those needs, what course of action we intend to take, and what work-product you should expect to receive. Moving forward we will begin working towards achieving those goals and periodically provide our clients with updates as necessary, or upon request.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our team has years of experience in estate planning, corporate law, business management, contracts and finance. Our Managing Partner has worked at boutique and mid-sized law firms on a variety of legal matters. He is a licensed attorney and holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance. With a background ranging from military service to banking, and then transitioning into the legal and finance realms, he became exceedingly skilled in problem-solving, and critical thinking. The associates and staff at Stead & Associates range from attorneys licensed in several jurisdictions, licensed HR professionals, and experienced employees with years of practice in the banking, tax, finance, and compliance realms.
