Introduction
I just took over the men’s tennis program at Grand Canyon University. I came from Texas Christian University (TCU) where I was an assistant coach for 4 years. We won the national indoor title and were ranked top 10 all 4 years! I played my college tennis at San Diego State and was a top 70 player nationally. I love the game of tennis and I am hoping to reach the community as well as bringing the GCU program to new heights.

Learning how to play tennis with Derek was amazing. He has the expertise and professionalism that I was looking for.
My son and I have been playing tennis for a while now so we were looking for a coach to take our tennis to the next level. I recommend Derek to anyone looking to learn from a Division 1 college tennis coach. We learn a lot and we had a great sweat doing it!

Working with Derek has been a terrific experience. He always has great insights on how I can improve my tennis and makes suggestions that I can implement and have an immediate impact. He’s also always willing to hear about specific pain points or questions I’m having and give sound advice. He’s clearly drawing from a wealth of experience built from years of both playing and coaching tennis. In addition to the on-court coaching, he’s always responsive to texts, flexible with scheduling, and on time to sessions. If you get a chance to work with Derek, I’d highly recommend it!

My best tennis coach ever! Worth every penny. Not one of those coaches that waste your time and you never get better. He explains tennis concepts in a very easy to understand manner and his drills are excellent. Every session, I know I am going to work and my tennis game and fitness are massively improving because of him. I would absolutely recommend him as a coach.

Coach Derek has been incredibly consistent and knows when to encourage and when to push in order for me to be at my very best. Truly wouldn’t be where I am today with him!
